HER Musicology Podcast

I am proposing to set up a HER Musicology podcast in 2026 based on issues and topics in musicology, music, and music in higher education. I am interested in all areas and aspects of music, so please feel free to email me on any topic or issue. The podcast will aim to be multifaceted and diverse by addressing contemporary issues in music in higher education, teaching music in higher education, new music projects, and events, as well as areas such as historical musicology, music analysis, and composition, for example.

We can look at anything from your new book, your new composition, a new community project, your cultural institution, your community of practice, or do a deep dive into your topic of expertise, be it history or analysis, as well as discussing your creative outputs and creative processes or simply doing an autobiographical segment by having a look at your professional life history in the music profession. I think student and graduate student segment might also be possible, if you are interested, feel free to email me.

HER Musicology is an abbreviation for Higher Education Research on Musicology and Music, musicology being very broadly defined. Although HER musicology emphasises the voice of women in higher education and field of music and musicology, the podcast welcomes and is open for men to participate in the series also.

If you might be interested in voluntarily featuring on the podcast, please email me at any of the following -

- joness9@tcd.ie
- hermusicology@gmail.com

You can also add me on LinkedIn if you wish to stay in touch about the podcast.
